Cast members trip over themselves to try to help the detective solve the murder whie they put on their block-buster show.

Much Ado About Murder begins with Carlton Laraby's invitation to family members to attend a costume party dressed as favorite Shakespearean characters. The guests arrive and Carlton is found dead in his study and the investigation is on, with the audience invited to hunt for clues.
